1) if they start a relationship, does that mean all other friends should fall by the wayside? even though I'm a girl I think they should at least show some effort.
2) If I start dating someone (which this has only happened a few times), it's SO obvious when they decide to not speak to me anymore, or when they get all upset...
For both scenarios they saw me as an option and when I'm taken or they find someone else, our friendship is no longer important. Each situation is different ofcourse.. and some more complicated and painful than others.
But I guess the good side is that it weeds out those who don't have the right motives.

Lately, there's been a major pruning of friends.. mostly it's been happening naturally.. just growing apart. Or just realizing it's not working anymore. Just because you've known someone for years doesn't mean you'll be friends forever. People grow, and they often grow apart and become completely different people and are no longer on the same page with the same values. It's difficult, but I'm much better off for it, and MUCH more drama free.
I just needed to vent... I know some people will read this and assume it's about them. But trust me it's probably not. This happens a LOT and just has been bugging me lately.
