Great Sermon

this morning was a great sermon and pretty convicting..

how hungry you are determines how much you will be fed...

we can't just expect deliverance, breakthrough, and revival to be plopped in our laps.

We have to hunger after God, seek Him daily, and be willing to sacrifice.

Good stuff!

Aunty Ria

so the doctor said I had a sinus infection. funnnnn

I haven't been in that much pain in a LONG time... running a fever on and off, hardly being able to swallow. But the antibiotics have already kicked in and I am feeling better already :)

I can't believe I'm about to be an aunt for the first time tomorrow... so crazy!

I'm going to be called Aunty Ria or Aunty Maria (not pronounced Ant). AUnt. AWWWWWnt. It annoys me when people say Ant like the insect. It's AUNT! but to each his own ;) lol ok done with that rant.

The baby was in breach position and not moving into position so Steph is having a c-section tomorrow at 4:30pm. I'm praying that it's a healthy baby and that there are no complications. They wanted the sex of the baby to be a secret (which I really respect cause with the technology we have today, there's not many surprises left!) My mom and I think it's a boy but we'll see :)

I just wish I could be there with them.. I won't get to see the baby till District Council in April :( but thank God for skype! :)

I finally did it!

I've had long hair down to my mid back or longer for years and years. With thick hair it's always been such a hassle.. Today when I went in for a trim I randomly decided to make it short.
This is odd for me cause I absolutely love my longhair.. but it's time for a change. It's to my shoulder and I love it :) just long enough to still have fun with it but not too short. I haven't had it that short since 9th grade!

up late

Usually I'm not up this late posting so much but I slept in till 2:45pm yesterday so my internal clock is a tad thrown off.

I kept waking up and forcing myself to go back to sleep cause I've been sick for a week now and knew my body needed it.

But it resulted in me being groggy all day..

Hopefully the doctor will help me out at my appointment Tuesday.

It'll be nice having a break from leading worship tomorrow. It's rare that I get to be lost in the crowd and participate in corporate worship. kinda nice :)

A gift is of no use if it isn't first received.

A man dies and goes to heaven. St. Peter meets him at the pearly gates.

St. Peter says, "Here's how it works. You need 100 points to make it into heaven. You tell me all the good things you've done, and I give you a certain number of points for each item, depending on how good it was. When you reach 100 points, you get in."

"Okay" the man says, "I attended church every Sunday"
"That's good, says St. Peter, " that's worth two points"

"Two points?" he says. "Well, I gave 10% of all my earnings to the church"
"Well, let's see," answers Peter, "that's worth another 2 points. Did you do anything else?"

"Two points? Golly. How about this: I started a soup kitchen in my city and worked in a shelter for homeless veterans."
"Fantastic, that's certainly worth a point, " he says.

"hmmm...," the man says, "I was married to the same woman for 50 years and never cheated on her, even in my heart."
"That's wonderful," says St. Peter, "that's worth three points!"

"THREE POINTS!!" the man cries, "At this rate the only way I get into heaven is by the grace of God!"

"Come on in!"

(so true though isn't it? it's not by works or just "being a good person" people!)
